This is one of my favorite projects and a wonderful way to play with some new techniques and color palettes.

1 Start by choosing a palette of four or five colors.

I chose a warm, mostly analogous color palette of purples, pinks, and oranges with a pop of blue.

2 Now let’s play with a new technique that will add some texture to your piece: painting on tissue paper.

Grab a piece of white tissue paper (about 5" x 7" in size). With a plastic garbage bag or something similar over your work surface, place the tissue paper matte side up. Now, using the colors you’ve chosen, paint over the entire sheet of tissue paper. Then lift it off the plastic and let it dry.
